The design of the apartment building is a response to a number of requirements, including maximizing the use of a triangular site fronting onto two streets, respecting the alignment and height restrictions which differ from one street to the other, and achieving the most desirable orientation for the rooms. The project is characterized by the voids behind the parapet walls of the facade in contrast with the vertical planes of solid elements. The focal sculpture in front of the building is by Mathias Goeritz. The twenty-seven-floor building contains fifty-nine apartments. The structure is of reinforced concrete and the facade is of pre-cast concrete blocks with an exposed marble-chip finish.
