Design Operation: Addition-Inflate, Displacement-Intersect
🗂️ The Walt Disney Concert Hall emphasizes dynamic flow and sculptural elements. The building's exterior resembles a group of huge metal sails, symbolizing the flow of music and the vitality of the city. The polished stainless steel facade shines brightly in the sunlight, creating a unique visual effect. The interior space design focuses on acoustic effects, using complex geometric shapes and materials to ensure that each seat offers the best auditory experience. The significance of the concert hall lies not only in its role as a venue for music performances, but also in its status as a landmark building in downtown Los Angeles, embodying the innovative spirit and artistry of modern architectural design, and significantly enhancing the cultural image of the city. After the completion of the Disney Concert Hall, the reflected light from the sheet-like roof caused inconvenience to the surrounding residents and also led to additional expenses for rectification. These unevenly polished stainless steel plates, like large mirrors, would reflect the scorching sunlight onto the surrounding apartments when the sunlight was intense, resulting in a sharp increase in the air conditioning costs for these residents. Moreover, the reflected light reached the street, and pedestrians passing by couldn't stand the sudden high heat. After measurement, the temperature on the roadside could reach as high as 60℃. The ticket seller of the concert hall also stated that they had seen warning triangles for construction work on the opposite street many times. These triangles melted due to the high heat. They also noticed that some trash cans had caught fire spontaneously. All these complaints forced the concert hall to spend more money. Through computer analysis, they reduced the brightness of several roof sections that were prone to reflecting light into the activity areas by using sandblasting to prevent the same problem from recurring.
https://ucarecdn.com/b6881b91-41a2-4e7b-bd46-71bd3d366263/
